De Ville

Offered for sale is this Omega De Ville Quartz, reference 191.0044, dating from the late 1970s. With its round case, warm champagne-coloured dial and restrained applied hour markers, this De Ville represents Omega's dress-watch design of the period well.

The watch is powered by the Omega calibre 1330 quartz movement, one of Omega's period electronic movements developed during the transition towards quartz technology in the 1970s. The movement runs properly, keeps accurate time and the watch presents itself as a clean, well-kept vintage dress watch.

Please note this watch uses Omega's Accuset time-setting system: pull the crown out to set the hour hand independently, and push the button inside the crown to precisely advance the minutes. This is a deliberate period design feature, not a fault, and can seem unusual if you haven't encountered it before, so it's worth knowing before you set it for the first time. The champagne dial remains attractive, with simple baton markers and discreet Omega branding. The gold-plated case (20 microns) is complemented by a stainless-steel caseback bearing the original Omega markings and reference number 191.0044.

At approximately 34mm excluding the crown (36mm including the crown), the watch has a classic vintage size that works well as a dress watch and can comfortably be worn by both men and women. It is fitted with a black aftermarket leather strap.
